Tensions run high as these shorts give it their all to climb the mountain, win the title, or…buy racist memorabilia? Whatever the prize, these filmmakers take us for a ride as they exorcise their demons and pursue their goals.

An aging Filipino World War II veteran with nothing left to lose dusts off his past and his pistol for one last mission in 1981 San Francisco.

Rise

Using climbing as a metaphor for the hurdles immigrants must overcome, AHON (RISE) recounts the rise of the K8 Mountaineering Club of Alberta, a non-profit giving Filipino Canadians access to outdoor education, equipment, and community.

LION is a short dance film that explores identity, assimilation, and intergenerational silence. Drawing on the traditional lion dance, the film transforms a cultural ritual into a space for reflection, pride, and return.
