Whereabouts is a riso-printed animated short that follows a woman’s journey through New York City, unfolding through small, intimate moments. Gentle and reflective, the film captures the beauty in everyday life—passing faces, brief memories, and the tiny details we often overlook. From sunrise to sunset, Whereabouts becomes an observation on presence, connection, and the quiet magic of simply moving through the world.

Suejee Lee is an award-winning Korean American animator and illustrator based in Brooklyn. Her art practice is rooted in a commitment to sequential art, guided by a DIY approach. Her work is inspired by the emotional landscapes of everyday life. Her films have screened at festivals all around the world. She has collaborated with Google, Netflix, Riot Games, and HBO. She is a gold medalist for the Society of Illustrator’s 68th Annual, and was a RisoLAB Artist-in-Residence for Spring 2025.
