Satkankul

SATKANKUL is a short narrative film inspired by real family history and told through the perspective of an eight year old girl who discovers an old photo album. As she turns its pages, she is drawn into the love story of her grandparents, Satkankul and Asymkul. Through memory and imagination, the past comes alive, revealing that family is not only shared moments, but a legacy of love, loss, and enduring connection.

Aidana Muralieva is a director from Kyrgyzstan. She works in the film industry, taking part in both fiction and documentary productions. Her experience includes directing short films as well as working in various roles on feature-length projects. She aspires to grow as a director by telling honest, emotionally resonant stories that connect with audiences. Aidanа is also dedicated to contributing to the development of Kyrgyz cinematography and supporting the growth of a local cinematic voice.
