HUONG is a personal documentary told from the perspective of a daughter who accidentally uncovers a secret her mother has carried for decades—a love story marked by tragedy.
Through intimate conversations, archival footage, and reflective narration, HUONG becomes a portrait of grief passed down, love lost and found again, and the resilience of a mother and daughter reconnecting through pain, vulnerability, and truth.
Content warnings: death, self-harm/suicide
Jenny Thach is a Vietnamese-American filmmaker based in Los Angeles, CA. HUONG is her first documentary, blending personal storytelling with broader themes of trauma, identity, and resilience.
