glide (all the people i’ll never be)

Between life and death, a young ghost comes to terms with her loneliness when she becomes a spectator of the life around her. Through these observations, we get a glimpse into her dreams, memories, and anxieties while she navigates an isolating change. As her longing for a place in the world grows, she comes to realize that ghosts may never be able to leave the places they love – or that they may go everywhere, looking to be alive.

Li Anne Liew is a filmmaker, animator, and photographer from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Her films have been screened at festivals around the world. Her short film WHERE NO ONE LIVES (2022) was featured at the 8th Annual CAA Moebius Film Showcase and shortlisted at the Cannes Lion Young Director Award. Her latest short GLIDE (ALL THE PEOPLE I’LL NEVER BE) (2025) premiered at Raindance Film Festival.
