The Chair

Matt, a Filipino carpenter, makes a custom chair for Frank, an eccentric client. When Matt reveals the finished product to Frank, everything changes when Frank sits on it.

Dustin Tan is an Asian American filmmaker whose work explores loneliness, intimacy, and the quiet absurdity of trying to connect with others. His shorts, including his new film THE CHAIR, have screened at Slamdance, Beyond Fest, Palm Springs Shortfest, and Maryland Film Festival. Beyond narrative film, he has worked with many brands such as Rimowa, Bose, and Adidas. He recently completed production on his debut feature A DARK PLACE, a tragicomedy set around the closure of a community darkroom.
